PAINTING -
PIPING
SYSTEM
As
a standard, the exterior surface of all pipes and fittings
and accessory items are painted using a suitable red oxide
primer. In addition a one inch wide colour code band is painted
on the periphery of the pipe or fitting using enamel paint.
For pipes, this band is provided near the fixed flange end
of the pipe. The colour band serves as an identification of
liner material as stated below.

Special
paints if required to be provided on the exterior surface
of the metal housing are to be specified at the time of making
